Autumn….Fall….Harvest….Third Season….however you refer to this wonderful season….it’s here!!! The leaves are changing colors, the temperatures are dropping, and crops are being harvested. These changes invoke feelings of snuggling under a chunky throw, candlelit dinners, bonfires with roasted marshmallows, comfort food and family gatherings. I’m excited to make lasting memories with new and old traditions! What are your favorite memories or traditions?
It’s so easy to bring touches of Fall into your home. I have gathered a few of our farmhouse favorites to share with you the simplicity of this wonderful season.
Gourds!! Did you know gourds are a hard-shelled fruit? Once they are dried and cleaned they make the best Fall decorations that can last for years!
Gather and display them in old metal buckets for an instant touch of Autumn!
The changing of the season brings the most spectacular color of leaves. I love these preserved branches I purchased from JOANN Fabrics. They last for years when properly stored. I like their vibrant pops of color.
Another favorite of mine is this European coal bucket. I can easily decorate this bucket with seasonal displays. Right now, it's perfect for Fall.
I enjoy these old wine bottles and demijohns. I especially love hand blown ones with all their unique imperfections. The bright green is such a pretty Fall color. They are perfect when grouped together for an easy, effortless centerpiece. And our European bread boards make a great riser to corral these beauties.
Wheat, bales of hay, and pumpkins! Their natural beauty reminds me of being on a farm!
Our rusty olive buckets make for an eye-catching and easy Autumn display.
Our hand carved wood bowls are the perfect catch-all for your Fall decor. Gather your decorations and pile them for an effortless display or centerpiece.
Buckets of mums, fresh or faux, brighten every home and garden!
I enjoy creating grand focal pieces! This old European trough does not disappoint! How pretty would this Fall display look in an entryway or on a kitchen island?
Here’s another fun idea….a little German goat wagon decorated for Fall.
I hope I've inspired you to celebrate this amazing season of change! It doesn’t have to be over the top or daunting to add some “Fall” to your home!
I can't wait to hear how you celebrate and decorate my favorite season. Please drop me a note with your ideas and traditions!
